ANARCHUS - 500 YEARS OF INFAMY [THIK-005] Recorded July 27th & 28th, Mixed August 6th and 7th 1991 at Area Studio. Released on Gothic Records. Distributed in Europe by Seraphic DeEcay Records.
HISTORY Anarchus was formed in 1987. The demo "Total Hate" was recorded and released in january 1988, and was well received, despite the low production values. This led to independent record label interest, and gigs in many parts of Mexico.
During 1990 they recorded the 'Final Fall of the Gods' EP, which whilst being recorded in Mexico, was mixed in Tampa Florida by Scott Burns at Morrisound Studios. This would be followed up in 1991 by the '500 Years Of Infamy' EP, on Gothic Records. Which would be distributed throughout Europe by Seraphic Decay and Nuclear Blast records.
Anarchus have played with a variety of very well known bands over the years such as Sepultura, Exodus, Napalm Death, Sodom, Fear Factory, Dark Angel, Nocturnus, Master, Rotting Christ, lncantation and Mortician, as well as, many acts from the underground, including Recipients of Death, Rigor Mortis and Sadistic Intent!
During 1991 the band would go through a period of instability, which would affect a possible US tour.
Anarchus play a mix between Thrash, Grind, Crust and Death, and lyrically have an anti-religious and nihilistic view point. Believing that it is more logical and realistic to believe in oneself, than believe in any type of religious, political or social ideal.
NOTE This 7" was not a Seraphic Decay Records release. It was however distributed by Seraphic Decay, via Nuclear Blast Records in Europe. It is, so far the only official instance i have found, of Seraphic Decay acting as a distributor for other labels. I also can't find anything that says wether Gothic records was sub-label of Seraphic Decay, so I assume it wasn't
