Demigod - Unholy Domain [A] Recorded by Heikki Peltonen. Recorded & mixed at AMR-Studio, Viiala 1990 / Necropsy - From The Depths [B] Recorded in 1991
[SCAM 028]
HISTORY [DEMIGOD] was formed in August of 1990 in Loimaa, Finland. The band was heavily inspired by such bands as Infernal Majesty, Possessed, Obliveon, Invocator and Carcass. Their first studio-demo "Unholy Domain" was recorded in December of 1990. That demo-tape gained a huge success in underground circles around the world. It would later be released by Seraphic Decay as a split LP with Necropsy from Finland 1992.
Demigod signed a record deal with the Spanish label, Drowned Productions (the label later changed it's name to Repulse) in spring 1992. The album classic "Slumber Of Sullen Eyes" was recorded and mixed at Tico-Tico Studios (Kemi, Finland) in July 1992.
The band gigged extensively in the early 90's. They also recorded two tight promo-tapes in 1993 and 1994, but despite the good response from press and fans, the band still split. The band would be resurrected in 1998 and sign a record deal with Spikefarm Records in 2001. Their second album "Shadow Mechanics" was released in July 2002. The album includes various songs easily spanning the ten years period after the “Slumber Of Sullen Eyes”.
In 2005 new material for the third album was finalised and Demigod would record its final CD in the shape of 'Laet Chais Prevail'.
[NECROPSY] formed in 1987 in Lahti Finland. But it wouldn't be until 1989 that the band took name Necropsy. During 1990 the band would be prolific, putting out three demo tapes, 'Mental Disturbance', 'Curse' and 'Indigestion'. This would be followed in 1991 when they would again put out 2 more demo tapes, 'Promo '91' and the classic 'Another World'. 1992 would see the release of the Classic Necropsy / Demigod split MLP on Seraphic Decay Records. Necropsy would also release the 'Never To Be Forgotten' 7" with Seraphic Decay. The band split in 1994, but have re-united in 2010.
