Toxaemia - Beyond The Realm[SCAM 011] produced by ola florhed and toxaemia. engineered by Ola Florhed. Recorded and mixed at artserv studio, Mjölby in August 1990
HISTORY Toxaemia was formed by longtime friends Pontus Cervin, Emil Norrman and Stevo Bolgakov. In their first lineup, Emil played Guitar and a friend Brun was supposed to play the drums, with Stevo on guitar and Pontus on the bass. It became evident that Brun was not a natural drummer and Emil steeped in to do the drums. Brun took on the vocal role. They called themselves 'O.S.S.' Brun was later replaced by Holma, who also wrote the lyrics. At this point the band had various name changes including 'Mutilator', and then Anguish'. New material was written and heavy rehearsing began. This led to the recording of a rehearsal tape in September 1989 called 'Deadly Coronations'. After this it was not long before it was agreed that Holma would leave the vocals to Stevo and a new member Linus Olzon was recruited. This line up would become 'Toxaemia'.

During 1990 'Toxaemia' went to Art Serve Studio in Mjölby, and over a weekend, 5 songs were recorded and mixed. The first four became their first demo 'Kaleidoscopic Lunacy' limited to 200 traditional white tapes. As Toxaemia' music spread, they started playing local gigs, playing with bands such as Entombed, Merciless, Therion and Cadaver. During this period they also wrote new material and finetuned their sound. Plans were made to go back in to studio for a second Demo, but the opportunity arose to record the 'Beyond The Realm' 7" EP for Seraphic Decay Records. Making a vinyl had been a dream for the band, So they signed a deal with and went in to Studio again to record all new material. The new material sounded far better than the demo, but budget restraints limited them to record and mix only 4 songs. Toxaemia would go on to record the 'Buried To Rot Demo' in 1991...
